Canadians want federal science funding restored to 2011 levels.
According to 2016 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development figures (the most recent available), Canada ranks 21 out of 27 OECD countries in the amount it reports spending on science.
The Canadian Alliance of Nuclear Workers (CANW) is calling on the Government of Canada to end uncertainty for nuclear workers by reinstating their right to contribute to public service pension plans.
PIPSC and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) celebrated the renewal of their collective agreement on July 23rd, 2018. The renegotiation of this agreement took place entirely on First Nations land and included Elders supporting the work with prayer, wisdom and input.

The Government of Canada has begun to move to open office workplace design in some offices across the country. There are PIPSC members already working in this type of office and others whose offices will soon be converted.
Today we join with workers and unions across the world in celebration of the accomplishments and resistance of workers! In that light, and as the ongoing struggle with Phoenix persists, PIPSC is demanding action from the Federal Government.
Canadians who think it’s easier for the rich and corporations to avoid paying taxes have compelling new evidence to support their suspicions. Nine out of 10 Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax professionals surveyed by PIPSC agree “it is easier for corporations and wealthy individuals to evade and/or avoid tax responsibilities than it is for average Canadians.” That’s even more than the 79% of Canadians who agreed with the same statement in an Environics Research poll.
Bargaining teams are being convened, member surveys are being conducted, and priorities are emerging, both for individual Groups and PIPSC overall. In short, all Groups should be in a position to begin bargaining by the end of the year.
Building on the tremendous solidarity established in the last round of negotiations, our 16 Treasury Board groups are busy preparing for a new round of bargaining that is scheduled to begin in the coming months.
