    The CFIA-S&A election committee has verified the results for the 2025 elections. 215 ballots were cast in the election. The following candidates have been elected to the CFIA-S&A executive, and will take office immediately:

    In accordance with its By-Law 8, the CFIA-S&A Group will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12 to 1:30 pm ET.

    This is your election toolkit to inform you about the 2025 election to the CFIA-S&A Group Executive. Voting can only be done by accessing your account on the PIPSC voting system.
You will receive an email that voting is opening on September 9, 2025.

    PIPSC members of the Pay Equity Committee are happy to report that the joint Pay Equity Committee will be issuing Job Information Questionnaires to a selection of CFIA members. These surveys serve as a vital for identifying and attributing value to what you do within the organization.

    In the spring of 2024, PIPSC notified their members that the employer was applying for an extension to complete the pay equity process. PIPSC had the opportunity to respond to the Pay Equity Commission on whether they supported the application or not.

    We are pleased to inform you that your new collective agreement was signed on December 16, 2024.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) now has 180 days to implement the salary changes, followed by retroactive payments to all members.

    The Employer at CFIA has submitted a request for an extension of 18 months to complete the pay equity plan. The original draft plan was supposed to be posted for review and comments by July 03, 2024 but the employer failed to meet this deadline.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we wanted to inform you that the employer (CFIA) has cancelled our June 26 and 27 bargaining session. We understand your frustration. We are working hard to secure new dates with the CFIA and will keep you posted.

    The Pay Equity Committee at CFIA has almost completed the process of creating job classes which include similar duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and the same compensation plan within the same range of salary rates.

    We met with the employer from May 7 - 9, 2024, for our second individual S&A group bargaining session.

    We met with the employer on March 6 and 7, 2024, for our first individual S&A group bargaining session.

    The classification grievance submitted by PIPSC put forward arguments to support an upward reclassification of the Supervisor, Inspection and Advisory Services (SR-03) job description to SR-04.

    The Pay Equity Committee at CFIA has been working to develop a proactive pay equity plan. The committee is composed of bargaining agent representatives, including PIPSC members and staff, non-represented employees and employer representatives.
