Your IN, S&A and VM Bargaining Teams have established a PIPSC CFIA Central Bargaining Team to deal
with common issues for all 3 groups and - hopefully - expedite the collective bargaining process.

As you may know, the CFIA-VM Bargaining Team has been established, and on September 29, 2022, we sent the notice to commence collective bargaining to the employer.

The CFIA-VM election committee has verified the results for the 2023 elections. Twenty-four ballots were cast in the election. The following candidates have been elected to the CFIA-VM executive, and will take office immediately:

Following the close of nominations on January 4, 2023, the following members expressed their willingness to serve as representatives on the CFIA-VM Group Executive. The term of office for the members elected to the CFIA-VM Group Executive shall be two (2) years.

The CFIA-VM Bargaining Team has not yet started negotiating a new collective agreement. We sent the notice to bargain to the employer. We do not feel that there is enough time to engage in targeted and intense negotiations with the employer before the 2019 federal election.
