The AFS Bargaining Team is already hard at work preparing for the next round of collective bargaining. As always, our goal is to secure the best possible collective agreement for all our members.
Our current collective agreement expires on December 21, 2022. Legally, we can start the bargaining process with the CRA up to 120 days (4 months) in advance, which we plan to do.
On November 8, 2021, the CRA announced its new COVID-19 vaccination policy and implementation guide. This policy has made COVID-19 vaccination a new condition of employment.
Please review the policy to understand how it could affect you. The documents are only accessible internally through CRA’s InfoZone.
The Elections Committee has verified the results for election to the position of President of the AFS Group Executive. The following candidate was successful (name underlined) and will take office commencing July 1, 2021:

POSITION - PRESIDENT
I’m writing this message as we near nine months of dealing with the worst pandemic in generations. I am incredibly proud of the support our members have provided to Canadians while working under less than ideal conditions for both our physical and mental health.

There are five (5) vacancies for Officers on the AFS Group executive. Successful candidates will take Office on September 16, 2020.
Following the close of nominations on July 30, 2020 the following members expressed their willingness to serve as Officers on the AFS Group Executive. Two Regional Officer Positions have been acclaimed - congratulations to Emmanuel (Manny) Costain and Robert Trudeau. Elections will be held for Headquarters Regional Representative, Toronto Regional Representative and Quebec Regional Representative.
