Re-elect Doug Mason - AFS President

I appreciate the trust you have placed in me as your AFS President since 2015. When re-elected, I will continue to fight for fair compensation and safe working conditions for our members.

I thank you for the important work you do for the people of Canada. Your efforts during the pandemic, under uniquely challenging conditions, have made me very proud to be your AFS President.

Being AFS President is beyond a full time job, and the person occupying this job must be willing to put in long hours. My colleagues and family will confirm that I have worked tirelessly for you, since the day I was elected your AFS President.

My service to AFS members began in 1999 as a PIPSC Steward. Since then I have served at the local; regional and national level. I have been an elected member of our AFS National Executive since 2006; and currently serve as your AFS President.

As your AFS President, I have:

· Fought for and won fair wage raises and leave enhancements for all AFS members
· Constantly consulted with management on our members’ concerns
· Worked for classification reform to appropriately value your professional work
· Strengthened our relationships within our union and with our fellow unions

During my presidency, the AFS Group has achieved amongst the largest contractual gains of any bargaining group in the federal public service.

With your support, I will continue to dedicate myself to representing our AFS members to the best of my ability.

I have the experience and passion needed to lead us through the turbulent times ahead.
