On February 7, 2018, PIPSC Vice-President Stéphane Aubry and Special Advisor to the President Emily Watkins testified before the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance about the Phoenix pay system’s impact on Institute members.

On February 6, 2018 PIPSC President Debi Daviau led a dozen-strong Institute delegation to Ottawa’s Parliament Hill as part of the Canadian Labour Congress’ (CLC) annual Lobby Day.

Report: A total of three (3) completed nomination forms were received by Brigitte Jolin of PIPSC by the submission deadline, December 7, 2017 @ 3pm. Each form was independently validated in accordance with our current bylaws. Therefore, these three candidates stood for election.

The Prairie/NWT Regional Training Committee is very pleased to announce the 2018 Regional Labour School, consisting of 3 full days of instruction. Our training event will take place in Edmonton, from May 10 to 12 at the Matrix Hotel. Stewards are asked to select either Module 1 or Module 2, which will run concurrently.

Despite much public controversy surrounding it over the past few months, Bill C-27, which would make it easier for employers to convert existing employee Defined Benefit (or DB) pension plans to so-called Target Benefit (or TB) plans, remains at the First Reading stage in Parliament. That means it could still become law if nothing is done to stop it.

It appears, from comments and questions raised by some members, that there is misunderstanding on how PIPSC operates. So I’d like to hereby clarify the roles and responsibilities of the Stewards, the Sub-Group and the Executive.

On January 29, 2018, PIPSC President Debi Daviau met with Revenue Minister Diane Lebouthillier for the first time at the Canada Revenue Agency headquarters in Ottawa.  

We invite all employees of 401 Burrard Street in a Union to the lunch and learn multi union meeting on the topic of Workplace 2.0. Our goals are to share information with members, and listen to their feedback.
