Process:
Multiple calls for nominees in the form of email messages and web postings were communicated (in both official languages) to the NRC RO-RCO membership starting November 9, 2017, approximately 4 weeks prior to the December 8, 2017 RO/RCO AGM. In addition, the call for candidates including instructions and link to the nomination form was posted on the PIPSC website on the RO/RCO Group site as an alternative means to e-mail.
Report:
A total of three (3) completed nomination forms were received by Brigitte Jolin of PIPSC by the submission deadline, December 7, 2017 @ 3pm. Each form was independently validated in accordance with our current bylaws. Therefore, these three candidates stood for election.
Results:
As six vacancies on the RO/RCO Executive Committee were available and three eligible candidates, it was not necessary to hold a ballot-based election and the three candidates were acclaimed to the Executive Committee. These 3 candidates acclaimed to serve a 2-year term (listed in no particular order) are as follows:
Devenand Pinto (HHT, Halifax)
Mary Zborowski (retired member, Ottawa)
Carsen Banister (CONST, Ottawa)
Following the AGM, the RO/RCO Executive Committee filled the 3 remaining vacancies on the Committee, as permitted by our bylaws, by appointment until the next Election at AGM 2018. These 3 vacancies will be filled by:
Suwas Nikumb (AST, London)
Craig Bihun (HHT, Ottawa)
Feng Ni (HHT, Montreal)
Executive Committee officer positions were also decided at the RO/RCO Executive Committee meeting following the AGM. The composition of the RO/RCO Group Executive for 2018 will be as follows:
