EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE AT THE NATIONAL AND REGIONAL LEVEL

  • Toronto Regional Representative on the AFS Executive and Bargaining Team (September 2014 to June 2023)
  • PIPSC Board of Directors; Director, Ontario Region (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, January to June of 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, January to August 2014)

  • Chair, Executive Compensation Committee (2013)
  • Chair, Human Rights in the Workplace Committee (2008, 2009)

EXPERIENCE:

1. SERVING MEMBERS DURING THE PANDEMIC

An active member of the AFS Group, serving members in the past GTA on issues related to Bargaining, Consultation on Staffing, COVID-19, Occupational Safety and Health, Racism, Diversity and Inclusion, Public Service Employee Survey Results, and Conflict Management.

2. LEADERSHIP

An experienced, hardworking, and caring leader who acts quickly to members’ needs and provides clear resolutions. I was instrumental in ensuring that internal employees who met the requirements of several external staffing competitions were interviewed. A significant number of our members were appointed from these external competitions. I participated in two presentations at the Senate of Canada and served on the bargaining team for several rounds of bargaining. These contracts were ratified and accepted by most of the members. I will continue to advocate for our members to promote transparency and integrity at all levels of the Institute and ensure harassment and discrimination issues are dealt with effectively. I strongly believe we need to get our financial house in order. There are no reasons to support the proposed dues increase. Finally, we need to continue negotiating better working conditions and continue promoting increased virtual work arrangements since most tools are available to complete the work remotely.

MY COMMITMENT: I will work for your rights. I humbly count on your support.
