I have been a volunteer PIPSC steward since 2018. In meeting with members and groups on many occasions, I understand the issues that matter for our members. I know that PIPSC’s duty is to support members to ensure fair and successful bargaining, to supporting members’ rights in the workplace and to be there when members encounter challenges.

My ethics is grounded in an understanding that employees are successful when they feel safe,  supported and valued in their workplace. As an activist I have tried to live this ethic. 

I care about the wellbeing of our Institute. I have PIPSC experience and relevant understanding of corporate governance to fulfill the Director role on the Board of Directors. Keeping PIPSC costs low and member dues low is important to me. And I want to ensure that PIPSC focuses on the issues that members care most about. 

My PIPSC experience: 

  • Steward of the Year, NCR 2023
  • AAFC Branch President: 2021 to present
  • AAFC Branch Vice President: 2019-2021
  • National vice-president PIPSC consultation at AAFC: 2019 to present
  • CP-Ottawa Sub-group member at large 2018 to present
  • Co-Chair and PIPSC representative Workplace Occupational Health and Safety committee 2020 to 2022

Member issues that are important to me are:

  • Bargaining and protecting employee rights
  • Supporting members on the return to the office mandates
  • Reducing harassment and discrimination in the workplace
  • Healthy and safe workplaces
  • Reducing contracting out
  • Employee right to use official language of choice in the workplace and with PIPSC
  • Employee access to funding for training including language training

My Governance Experience

  • Committee Chair WP Occupational Health Committee AAFC (NHCAP) 2020 to 2022
  • Chair AAFC Branch (National Capital Region 2021 to present)
  • Completed MBA with specialization in governance in 2008
