Candidate for Québec Regional Director
Patrick Tsie8ei (Sioui)
(Regular member)
My name is Patrick Tsie8ei (Sioui) and I’m asking for your vote to become Québec Regional Director.
I’m a team leader with a 32-year career at the Canada Revenue Agency.
I’ve been Full-Time President of the Montréal AFS Sub-Group Executive since December 2013 and Treasurer of the Québec Region Executive. I was President of the Montréal-Centre Branch for more than 10 years, until March 2023. I took part in negotiating the collective agreement between the CRA and PIPSC’s AFS Group, replacing the Quebec Regional Representative for about three months. A learning experience.
My priorities are, among others:
- Member representation. We’re currently concerned about the return-to-office mandate, but more importantly, about the government’s astonishing contempt for its public servants. The French fact must be protected. In fact, I filed an OL complaint about the eConcierge office space reservation program.
- Teamwork. Decisions are made by the Montréal AFS Sub-Group Executive in collaboration with the AFS Regional Representative, not by me alone. The various issues are shared monthly with all of the Region’s Sub-Group Presidents.
- Interunion collaboration. I participated in picket lines during the Union of Taxation Employees strike and lobbied for Indigenous issues in the Canadian Parliament in collaboration with several FTQ unions. I also took part in the return-to-office demonstration held in front of the CRA headquarters.
On a personal note, I’m a Huron-Wendat, born in Chibougamau, a father and I’ve been in a relationship for over 24 years. I maintain close ties with my Nation. One example among many: at the request of the Québec Regional Director, I organized a PIPSC Board of Directors meeting in Wendake, attended by Magalie Picard, President of the FTQ and proud Huron-Wendat.
I also enjoy doing sports, cycling, jogging, and going to the gym. I’m an avid reader, theatre enthusiast, and guitarist. I took part in the Multitud urban dance show presented at the Place des Festivals in Montréal in May 2024.
As Québec Regional Director, I commit to prioritize:
- Supporting Québec Region stewards and branches in their various responsibilities
- Defending the French language at the PIPSC Board of Directors
- Appropriate and useful training for stewards
- Accountable, transparent and fair use of PIPSC funds
For all these reasons, I’m asking for your vote to become your new Québec Regional Director.
