PIPSC President Debi Daviau's letter to RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki, urging her to abandon all plans to switch Civilian Members into the broken Phoenix pay system.

This tentative agreement was two years in the making. Today, the undersigned unions are pleased to announce they have signed on to this deal.

Compensation has been awarded to all members paid by Phoenix for the frustration caused by the failed pay system. 1. You will get 5 days of leave. If you are a current member who has been working for the public service since 2016, you will get 5 days of leave.

This week, May 6-12, is National Nursing Week. We take this time to celebrate the incredible contributions nurses make to our public health care system and our communities.

The PIPSC Central Table Bargaining Team met with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) representatives on April 24th and 25th. The two parties have continued to exchange counter-proposals.

The Negotiations Team conducted our second set of negotiation meetings with Treasury Board and RCMP representatives in Ottawa from April 2 to 4, 2019.  The discussions to date have resulted in progress on several of the less contentious items in our proposals.

In 2001, I had to fight for parental leave. Working for the federal government, my third baby on the way, my employer refused to implement new legislation extending parental leave top-up pay from six to twelve months, as provided in our collective agreement.

Budgets are about choices. Budget 2019 chose to continue the underfunding of public science capacity in Canada.

On April 2nd, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) held its first-ever Indigenous Lobby Day on Parliament Hill, which was the first in Canadian labour history. CLC had 129 participants from 21 different union affiliates meeting with 78 Members of Parliament and Senators on Parliament Hill.

On Wednesday, PIPSC members from across the country came together to participate in a central bargaining webinar with President Debi Daviau and Director of National Labour Relations Richard Beaulé.

Zul Nanji is a retired International Tax Auditor with the CRA. Originally from Kenya, Zul has been working in international taxation since he moved to Ottawa in 1992, and was a tax auditor with the government for 35 years.
