Your AFS Bargaining Team met July 19 to 21 to finalize proposals to renew our collective agreement, which will expire on December 21.
We have heard from our stewards, activists and members. Pay is our number one priority. The cost of living is rising at its fastest pace in decades.
Our members also want to have flexible hours of work and the right to telework protected in their collective agreement.
In finalizing our demands, our team considered the results of our member survey and feedback from our June bargaining conference that was attended by our AFS sub-group and CS zone presidents from across Canada.
We will serve notice to bargain in late August. This is the earliest that we may legally take this step.
We will exchange proposals with CRA and begin negotiations this fall. Both parties’ proposals will be published on our website after they have been exchanged.
If you have any questions, please contact a local steward or a member of our AFS Bargaining Team.
