DELEGATE ASSIGNMENT PROCESS
As per our By-Laws, the delegate count is one (1) per one hundred (100) members in the Region, plus (11) delegate seats assigned to the Regional Executive members. Branches are responsible for the selection of their Branch delegates. Once your Branch has confirmed your delegate status, please register online http://www.pipsc.ca/portal/page/portal/website/regions/ontario/regional_registration 5:00 p.m. Friday March 1, 2019. Registration requests will not be accepted by telephone or by email.
In the event that a delegate cannot attend the meeting, alternates shall be appointed by the respective Branch. If an alternate is not appointed, the seat shall remain vacant.
Observers are welcome, but no expenses, including the Regional Council lunch, will be paid. Observers can be sponsored by a Branch or self-funded. If the observer is sponsored by a Branch and requires hotel accommodation, the Branch will be billed by the Institute. To ensure sufficient space and seating arrangements, names of all observers are required by Friday, March 1, 2019. Observers may be called upon to become delegates if vacancies become available. Observers are responsible for booking their own travel and accommodation.
The Council will be one and a half (1.5) days, starting on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with registration starting at 12:00 p.m. The Council will continue on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 4:00 p.m. No scheduled events will take place on Saturday evening.
Detailed information about the agenda will be posted to the virtual binder prior to Council.
Guest rooms will be reserved through the Toronto office after you have registered on-line and your delegate status has been confirmed in writing from this office. Confirmation letters will be sent out beginning the week of March 4, 2019. In the event of a requirement to cancel, you MUST inform me of your change of plans. If staff can not be reached in a timely manner, 24 hours before the event, then YOU are responsible for the cancellation, and if you have not done so, you may be billed for the hotel costs directly.
