How can I participate to ensure representation at our PIPSC Regional Council?
The BC/Yukon Region wants to help make sure we have delegates attending our Regional Council that reflects our regional membership! Regional Council is our annual meeting in the BC/Yukon Region for our leadership to receive updates; discuss and approve changes to our organization; and, develop plans for the coming year. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn about your union and meet and network with other professionals in the Public Service.
The Regional Executive will select up to 5 additional BC/Yukon members as delegates who identify as a Young Professional and/or self identifies from one of the following Employment Equity Seeking Groups: Women, LGBTQ2, Indigenous Persons, Persons with a Disability and Visible Minority.
When:
May 29th (afternoon) and 30th (all day), 2020
Where:
Hilton Vancouver Metrotown in Burnaby
Who:
We invite all members to apply but the following criteria will be considered when reviewing applications:
- You are a Young Professional (in PIPSC that is 40 years of age or younger)
- You self-identify as belonging to an employment equity seeking group
- You are participating on a constituent body executive
- You have not attended a Regional Council before
- Regional Distribution of membership (where are you from?)
What costs covered if I participate?
- Travel
- Meals/incidentals
- Salary Replacement
If you are interested, please submit your name, a few lines as to your interest in participating at the Regional Council and include some details as to how you fit within the criteria. Applications should be sent to Shira Gordon – sgordon@pipsc.ca and must be received no later than April 1st, 2020.
Applications will be reviewed by the BC/Yukon Regional Executive and members selected out of this process will be notified the week of April 13th, 2020
