The PIPSC National Elections Committee has announced a pause on the official results of the CP Group Elections, following a successful complaint.

Unfortunately, retired members of the CP Group were not able to vote when the elections were conducted in May. As such, the election results have been paused so that retired members can participate in the elections.

The PIPSC Elections Appeal Committee found that the rights of retired members of the CP Group were violated under CP By-laws 4.1 and 7.3.2, and directed that retired members be given four weeks to vote as required by CP Group by-laws.

Voting for retired members was opened on June 25, and will close on July 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM ET (Ottawa time). The National Elections Committee will announce the final results of the elections as soon as possible following the close of voting.

Note that if you are a retired member and you cast your ballot in May, your ballot from that vote has been deleted and you are required to vote again.

PIPSC regrets the error and apologizes for the inconvenience caused.
