The SP Victoria Sub-Group was created for SP members in Greater Victoria so that our particular concerns have a voice, and so that we have an established structure within PIPSC to answer questions and coordinate information

As we approach the two-year anniversary of the introduction of the Phoenix pay system, PIPSC members are still facing mounting pay problems – and they’ve had enough. The time has come for the government to compensate employees for the hardship this system has put our members through.

On September 23rd, we signed a tentative agreement with CRA for a new collective agreement for the December 22, 2014 to December 21, 2018 period.

Representatives from The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) will be on hand for a discussion and to answer questions.

Your CFIA S&A Group Executive, representing over 1200 members across Canada, held its first meeting of the year on Saturday January 20th, 2018 in Ottawa. During this meeting, we have, among other things, held elections to fill the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Steward.

Your Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that on January 24, 2018 a Tentative Agreement was signed with the Employer, completing this round of negotiations.

It is with a profound sense of sorrow and regret that the Institute informs you of the passing of our friend and colleague, Mr. Arthur Etkin.   Mr. Etkin passed away on January 21, 2018. His commitment to Institute members was deep and unwavering. He will be missed.

The 2018 CS AGM will be held on Saturday, June 9th at the Grand Hotel & Suites, 225 Jarvis Street, Toronto ON starting at 9:00 am. The AGM is a forum to provide direction to your CS Executive.

The Montreal-based workplace daycare centre located in the federal government’s Guy Favreau building has been saved from closing its doors.

At long last the Collective Agreement has been signed by all parties. The Agreement was signed January 12, 2018 covering the period of November 1, 2014 to October 31, 2018.

Due to logistical issues, we will not be returning to the bargaining table January 9-10, 2018. We are now scheduled to return to the bargaining table, on yet confirmed days, in February 2018. We will keep you informed of further developments. Your Bargaining Team

Your Bargaining Team met with the CFIA on December 19-21, 2017 and January 16-19, 2018, with some sessions lasting past midnight in order to push for a fair deal.

The news that Canada’s largest private-sector union, Unifor, has decided to withdraw its membership from the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) has taken many by surprise.

It is with great sadness that the Institute announces the death of one of its most prominent members, Dr. Shiv Chopra.

Following the signing of the new collective agreement on December 1, 2017, the Institute has just been advised that Public Works has updated the salary scales for the IS/LS/TR groups on January 8th, 2018.

NCR Region - Policy Day - February 24, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30pm, PIPSC HQ Salon A/B The aim of this training is to provide information about the processes that go into writing and establishing internal PIPSC policies.

The parties met in Beausejour, MB on January 9, 10 and 11, 2018. Additional dates are scheduled for January 30, 31 and February 1, 2018 and also February 6, 7 and 8, 2018, once again in Beausejour.
