Even with things changing at a pace that nobody could have imagined as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, I wanted to take a moment to connect.
The last thing we want as a Group is for you to feel that you are alone. CS members continue to work, albeit most of you remotely, so if there is something that you need, do not hesitate to reach out to us or one of your stewards.
Offering services to federal workers and all Canadians is the cornerstone of our work. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifices that you all are making by respecting the guidelines set out by the Boards of Health. Like you, we continue to work in the background to keep our membership up to date. We believe that by working together and supporting each other during this crisis, we will head back to the office in as strong a state as is possible.
In our Mission Statement, we say: "We represent the interests of our CS community through strength and solidarity. We promote a common set of member-focused standards and ethics. Our goal is to fairly and equitably represent the knowledge and integrity of our profession." As key providers in this time, CS workers across the country and abroad are front and center in making sure that the work of the federal government can take place.
Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and we appreciate the fluid and dynamic way in which you have been handling the current situation in a style that mirrors our own objectives. We want you to know that we are continuing to pay attention to the situation as it evolves in order to be able to bring you the most up to date information and support you through departmental consultation.
During this challenging and stressful time, it is important to note that as details and strategies continue to emerge, we support one another in all our different communities as best we can.
We are ever hopeful that things will return to normal as soon as possible but in the meantime, we respectfully suggest that you continue to follow the guidelines set out by Public Health to help with containing the spread of COVID-19.
The federal government can continue its mandate because of you. The services provided to Canadians have continued as a result of your hard work and support. We recognize how important you are to the country and rest assured that this is recognized by your union and your employer.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing commitment and dedication.
In solidarity
Your CS Group Executive
