November 7th, 2019 AFS Executive Meeting

Planning & Executive Meeting Précis – August 28-29, 2019
The précis for the August 28th and 29th planning and executive meeting was approved as amended and will be sent for translation and posting.
Review of Action Items
Doug led a review of the action items.
Financial Update
Shawn led the Executive in a review of the current financials.
PIPSC AGM Resolutions
The Executive reviewed all of the PIPSC AGM resolutions and adopted positions or retained a free vote recommendation.
EWSP Review Committee
The AFS Executive selected the AFS primary and secondary representative on the PIPSC Employee Wellness Support Program Review Committee.
Criminal Investigation Hours of Work
A search action in Calgary lead to the investigation team remaining on site until 4:30am. When they requested a break before the next shift which began at 7:00am the Employer noted that any employee wanting the time off would have to take leave such as vacation. The Executive will follow up with management on this concern.
Prairie/NWT BC/Yukon Merger Update
An update was provided to the AFS Executive on the proposed merger of CRA’s Prairie/NWT and BC/Yukon regions. Work by the Agency is still ongoing.
ITB Term to Perm Conversion Update
An update was provided to the AFS Executive on Information Technology Branch term to perm conversions. Term to perm conversion to occur in the spring of 2020.
AU Education Standard Working Group
Brian and Robert will attend a meeting of CRA’s AU Education Standard Working Group on November 27th. The Employer is concerned about how to determine whether an employee meets the AU education standard.
Staffing Redesign Update
An update was provided to the AFS Executive. There was a recent call and the Employer plans to have some additional staffing pilots.
Concur Expense Reporting
With Concur, the new PIPSC expense reporting system, a TAN will be required for all expense claims.
Better Together Toolkit
A form is now in place to request Better Together funding. If the form is used please provide Andria Desjardins feedback before December 20th .
Next Executive Meeting
The next AFS Executive meeting will be November 30, 2019 in Ottawa.
