Historic swearing in of the Right Honourable Mary Simon as Governor General

On behalf of PIPSC members, President Debi Daviau congratulated the Right Honourable Mary Simon on her swearing in as Canada’s new Governor General.

PIPSC members work at Rideau Hall. President Daviau offered her collaboration on measures that build relationships between management at the Office of the Governor General’s Secretary and workers.

Last Friday marked the ‘sad’ first anniversary of the Phoenix pay system’s implementation. The first year of Phoenix can only be characterized as an abject failure. It has meant prolonged anxiety and pay problems for federal public service professionals across the country.
