Agenda/Ordre du jour

Treasury Board made an announcement at the end of April that would have an impact on the lives of our members and their families. An edict was passed down that all our IT Group members would be required to return to the office up to three days a week with virtually no exceptions.

This announcement came with no substantial rationale nor discernable motivation excepting perhaps political.

After a dreadfully slow and painstaking start, amplified by the employer underestimating the scope of the challenge of putting together the largest Pay Equity Committee and Pay Equity exercise in Canada, we are happy to report that the Pay Equity Committee is finally starting to make some, albeit slow, progress.

After having to cancel the first request for proposal, the employer recently released a second one, looking to secure the services of a consultant to help the Pay Equity Committee with the most technical tasks of the process ahead.

The IT election committee has verified the results for the 2024 elections. For the Vice-President position, 2,002 ballots were cast in the election. For the remaining 6 positions on the executive, 2020 ballots were cast. The following candidates have been elected to the IT executive, and will take office immediately:

This is your voter’s kit for the election of the IT Group Executive. Voting will take place by electronic means only. You will find enclosed in the email your personal ballot key. No paper mail-in ballots will be provided.

You will be receiving by email your electronic ballot key starting on May 21, 2024.

If you have a change of email address, please send an email to membership@pipsc.ca at the PIPSC National Office.

Please read all materials carefully to ensure that your vote gets counted.
