Membership Concerns
- Raffle held with different prizes for military and civilian winners:
- Military winner received 2 days leave
- Civilian winner received a $50.00 gift certificate
- Management said they don’t have the authority to grant leave to civilians
- Policy on cannabis usage:
- Received clarification on the procedure if a supervisor suspects an employee of being impaired
- Sea trials:
- CS’s working for Defence Research Directorate of Canada (DRDC) sometimes spend weeks at sea doing trials
- CS Collective Agreement has no clause on this subject
- CS’s have been getting some extra pay using a clause which is really intended for a different situation
- Referred to CS Group Bargaining Team
Social/Membership Engagement Events
- Contributed to Regional Office Seasonal Social
- Shakespeare by the Sea
- Skating Party
Other Activities
- Remembrance Day Wreath
- Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematic (STEM) Events:
- Provided prizes to 2nd and 3rd place teams at math competitions
- Raised awareness of PIPSC and the Public Service as a career option
