Yes, we reached the finish line!
Your bargaining team was once again in Ottawa from May 22 to 25 to meet with Treasury Board to continue negotiations; this time, during the Ottawa Marathon week. Much like a marathon, the SP Bargaining Team had a goal, strategy and drive to get to the end and reach a fair and equitable deal. In order to reach your goal, you need to prepare, you need to be ready and most importantly, you need the support of others to get you through.
We kept the finish line in sight, and with hard work, long hours and overtime, we made it to that elusive line.
Late on Saturday night, May 25th, after numerous exchanges your bargaining team finally crossed that line and said: “We have a deal!”

You will be invited to vote on the tentative deal and with your approval, the Bargaining Team will be signing our next contract with Treasury Board Secretariat.
The Bargaining Team will be hosting telephone town halls in both official languages. Members will have an opportunity to ask questions and have them answered. Dates for the telephone town hall and ratification vote will be announced shortly.
The Bargaining Team would like to recognize the continuous contribution and support of Debi Daviau (PIPSC President), Richard Beaulé (Director, National Labour Relations), and the PIPSC Communication and Mobilization Teams during this bargaining round.
Finally, y our Bargaining Team wants to thank you, our fantastic members from coast to coast, for the support you showed us throughout this rather quick bargaining round. We saw the pictures you took in your workplaces with the “ I support my Bargaining Team’ ’ signs and we, Ann, Bryan, Enzo, Judith, Marcel, Marcie, Waheed, along with our PiPSC negotiators Suzelle and David, our Research Officer Maxime really appreciate it.
Simply: Thank You.
