74th BC/Yukon-RC - Yukon Branch Report
June 1st and 2nd, 2018
Branch Activities:
2017 AGM was held on November 29th, in Whitehorse Yukon
• Debi Daviau, PIPSC President, was the guest speaker naturally covered the hot topics of the pay administration fiasco known as phoenix. Debi managed to enlighten a number of us not with treasury board, just how devastating the broken system has affected PIPSC members and how we in the branch can work with the NIX Phoenix campaign. We were all very pleased to have Debi travel all the way to the Yukon to meet with us and share the National view.
• Robert Macdonald, Director, BC/Yukon Region, the second guest speaker spoke about the PIPSC campaign of better together.
The outgoing president Wanda Aschacher was, unfortunately unable to attend her last Branch AGM but we thanked for her years of service.
Elections were held, Michael Paré became the new President, acclaimed. Lynn Cheverie nominated from the floor to the position of secretary.

Secretary: Lynn Cheverie (withdrew from position in January)

2018 AGM will be held in November date and location to be announced.
Debi and Rob spoke at a Lunch and learn organized by Ellen at the Java Connection café it was well attended.
On March 18th 2018 we held a lunch meet and greet as a way of introduction for the new Branch president. We discussed issues faced by the branch - phoenix pay system, isolated post allowance, with a discussion about the upcoming NJC survey differential in cost of living between the north and the south.
Our first executive meeting was held
• Review & discussion of the final 20117/18 Finances and the need to send I needed paper work for scheduled allotment. Requests made for report s to be sent made and all approved. Finances are in order as February of 2018.
• BMO signature card- updated signing officers.
It was decided that the delegates representing the Yukon Branch at 2018 British Columbia/Yukon Regional Council Meeting in June 2018 will be Mike Paré, Amy Genier and Joe Bradley.
Our next Executive Meeting to be scheduled for May, 2018.
