Dear Stewards:
The objective of this advanced Steward course is to help participants better understand the social approach involved in the Steward role and to clearly identify how they can intervene. The course is also designed to help participants take a preventive, union approach when their co-workers are faced with psychosocial problems or addiction.
The Quebec Region supports its Stewards who would like to help their members in dealing with occupational burnout, mental health issues, alcoholism or substance abuse, debt or other problems.
The Quebec Region sees this as an extension to a union initiative to improve working conditions, but also to create a climate that promotes a better quality of life. The Social Approach training course for stewards is a vital union tool that we are investing in to promote the well-being of our members.
In this course, you will gain a better understanding of your role as a steward and clearly identify how you can intervene.
Please find attached the registration form for the Steward course Social Approach, which is being held in Drummondville from November 23 to 25, 2017. The deadline for registration is Monday, October 23, 2017.
