To all IT members,
Your current collective agreement will expire on December 21, 2025. The IT Group National Executive hosted a bargaining proposals meeting on March 13 and 14, 2025 to prepare for bargaining.
Participants came from across the country. Over 2 days, we discussed our achievements from the last round, updated current language and drafted new proposals.
At these meetings, we had the opportunity to review results of the Bargaining Survey that you completed in February. We would like to thank you for your input – it was used to build a foundation for the Bargaining Team’s priorities.
The Bargaining Team has been appointed and in-depth training on the bargaining process was provided in September.
Over the last few months, the Bargaining Team and Executive worked on the proposals that came out of the Bargaining Proposals Committee meeting. We dove deeper into the survey results which informed our proposal language. We selected Conciliation/Right to Strike as the dispute resolution mechanism should we not attain a tentative agreement at the Bargaining table. Telework, an equitable market adjustment, and improved career development are top priorities of IT members.
As is required, we will provide today a Notice to Bargain to the Employer before the expiration date of our current contract.
Your continued support is critical in demonstrating to the Employer that your collective agreement is something that you value. The IT Group Executive, Bargaining Team and National Organizing Committee will continue and further increase our efforts from the last round by mobilizing members and engaging Canadians about the importance of keeping our work within the public sphere and not under the control of the private sector. Your work is in the public interest and must not be for private profit.
If you have any questions, please send an email to TI_questions_IT@pipsc.ca.
Yours in solidarity,
Robert Scott
IT Group President/Bargaining Officer, PIPSC
