The IT Group National Executive is seeking volunteers to join the IT Group Young Professionals Advisory Committee.

All IT group members in good standing are welcome to apply to join the committee. Preference will be given to members under 40.

The committee consists of a maximum of 7 young professionals from different regions across Canada and the IT Group Young Professionals Liaison Officer. The IT Group Executive may also select 2 friends of the committee (see note below). 

As a member of the IT Group Young Professionals Advisory Committee, you will have the opportunity to:

  • further the professional interests of the members
  • protect the status and standards of our profession
  • represent the views and interests of the members in all union and employer proceedings
  • engage IT young professionals of Canada to ensure a healthy succession for the IT Sub-Group Executives and the IT Group National Executive

Friends of the Committee: Friends of the Committee receive notice of meetings, agendas, and minutes and may submit their comments and suggestions on items being discussed by their Committee. Friends of Committees are not members of the Committee. As such, they do not form part of a quorum, nor can they vote in the committee's deliberations.

Friends of the Committee are not entitled to compensatory salary or reimbursement for travel expenses. However, they may attend meetings as Observers if the meeting is in their area or attend virtual meetings.
