Your bargaining team has had a busy spring meeting with the employer for 2 separate sessions
of in–person negotiations, from May 8 to 11 for our fifth session, and from June 27 to 28 for our
sixth session.
In terms of the non–monetary items, progress was finally made at the fifth session with the
employer willing to engage with us more comprehensively than at previous sessions. We were
able to sign off some changes and made progress towards a renewed collective agreement. We
also presented our monetary proposal to the Employer during this session.
In the sixth session we received the monetary proposal from the Employer’s team and were
very disappointed to receive their proposal since it was far below the current economic trends
and other collective agreements like those ratified by the PSAC. The Employer has yet to share
any position on the Market, Calgary and Performance Pay Allowances.
The next round of bargaining will be for three days the week of August 21, 2023. We are
hoping, again, that this time the Employer will come prepared and ready to bargain.
We are prepared to meaningfully negotiate on all of the outstanding monetary and
non–monetary issues during our next session and are hopeful that we can conclude this round
of bargaining as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued engagement in the bargaining process and support of your
bargaining team.
