●       Treasurer – 3 years

●       BC/Yukon Regional Representative – 3 years

●       Prairies/NWT Regional Representative – 3 years

●       NCR Regional Representative – 3 years

●       Ontario Regional Representative – 3 years

●       Québec Regional Representative – 3 years

●       Atlantic Regional Representative – 3 years

●       3 Member-at-Large positions – 3 years

The nomination and election process is governed by our Group bylaws Article 7. A complete list of the duties of the CP Group Executive are listed as part of CP Group By-Law in Article 6.7.

Here is a summary of the process:

●       Nominations must be supported by at least 2 CP Group members.

●       The PIPSC National Elections Committee will review the nominations to make sure nominees are eligible.

●       If necessary, the PIPSC National Elections Committee will hold a vote.

●       Nominees must be regular members and those that seek to represent their region must work in that region.

●      Nominees must indicate a willingness to serve if elected.

As a member of the group executive, your role is to:

●       further the professional interests of the members;

●       protect the status and standards of our profession;

●       represent the views of the members on matters affecting them; and

●       ensure that the interests of the Group are represented in all proceedings of the employer and of the union.

Any complaints about the election process can be submitted through the PIPSC Elections Appeal Committee.
