Work to develop and implement a proactive Pay Equity Plan at the Canada Revenue Agency is well underway, and committee members have been spending multiple days per week with UTE, Unrepresented, and employer representatives to complete a Pay Equity Plan.

The AFS Group is pleased to announce that our members have voted to accept the tentative agreement reached with CRA on September 16, 2023.

 

We anticipate signing our new collective agreement on December 14th, following management completing their ratification process.

Your AFS Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that on September 16, 2023, we signed a tentative agreement to complete this round of collective bargaining. The Bargaining Team would like to thank all members for their support.

We believe we have reached the best negotiated deal possible in what has been a challenging round of negotiations. Please find below your ratification information kit in preparation for the ratification vote

We are pleased to invite you to attend a national virtual contract information session. You are allowed up to 2
hours of paid leave time to attend this session, if you have not attended a previous one.


This French language sessions will be hosted by Québec Region AFS Representative, Jean Couillard. There
will be a separate notice for November 14 th and 15 th English language session to be hosted by our AFS
President, Doug Mason along with our AFS Vice-President, Shawn Gillis.

We are pleased to invite you to attend a national contract information session.

You are allowed up to 2 hours of paid leave to attend this session if you did not use them on another session.

These will be hosted in English by AFS President, Doug Mason, and Vice-President Shawn Gillis. (French language sessions will be hosted by our Québec Region AFS Representative, Jean Couillard.)

On September 16, your AFS Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement with the CRA.

We are now able to share more information about the ratification process with you.

Electronic voting will take place from November 10 until 12:00 PM ET on November 24. The voting package will include a summary and a complete report of all changes contained in the tentative agreement.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Paul Skinner passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023, at age 68. Paul was surrounded by family including his wife Anna, and daughters Marena and Melanie.

 

Paul served nine years as BC/Yukon Region AFS Representative and then as the BC/Yukon PIPSC Director. Including his service as a steward at the subgroup and branch level, Paul was a union leader for PIPSC for 18 years.

 

We are sad to share that, after a courageous battle against cancer, Joel Reisman passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023, surrounded by immediate family. Joel was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother.  Joel was also a beloved member of our union family. 

Joel served on our Toronto North AFS Subgroup and Branch executives for over ten years, the last six years as subgroup and branch president.

On September 16, your AFS Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement with the CRA.  We would like to acknowledge the work of our past bargaining team members that helped us get this far. Thanks to Dan Jones, Pam Kubicz, Dan Quinn, Alnashir Ravjiani, and Robert Trudeau.

 

The AFS Bargaining Team unanimously endorses the acceptance of this agreement on behalf of the AFS Group.
