Inter-Union (PIPSC & PSAC) Volleyball & Badminton Tournament
The PIPSC National Capital Region (NCR) and PSAC are pleased to invite members, family members (18 yrs. of age or above), and Young Professional Network members to participate in a volleyball & badminton night on October 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 9:45 pm.
Details are as follows:
Fee: None! Costs are sponsored by the PIPSC NCR and PSAC.
Meal: Pizza and drinks will be served from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Address: Montpetit Hall (University of Ottawa), 125 University, Ottawa, ON, K1N 6N5.
Game time: Badminton games start at 5:15 pm. Volleyball games start at 5:30 pm.
Prize: Prizes for first and second place volleyball and badminton winners plus 60 draw prizes.
Registration: The event is limited to the first 155 registrations for volleyball and 124 registrations for badminton.

The event is limited to the first 155 registrations for volleyball and 124 registrations for badminton.
Subsequent to your registration, you will receive a confirmation advising if you have been selected. You must register yourself AND your partner(s) (if you want to play in a team). You can register as an individual or a team. A team has up to 7 players for volleyball and 2 players for badminton. Limit 2 family members (FM) in a volleyball team and 1 FM in a badminton team.
For badminton registration, you are required to select Men Doubles (MD), or Women Doubles (WD) or Mixed Doubles (XD) and indicate your experience level: advanced, intermediate, or beginner. Please see the descriptions below:
Advanced: who can attack low serves, strong forehand & tight net shots, effective backhand smashes, clears & drops, can return a smash that wins the rally consistently, can consistently finish the rally when playing the net offensively.
Intermediate: who has good serves, basic footwork & knowledge of defensive/offensive positions & transitions, can hit consistently forehand smashes, drops, clears, can return smashes and get to some drop shots, can communicate well with partner & make proper defensive/offensive transitions.
Beginner: who understands the basics of badminton, enjoys playing and emphasizes having fun over the exact skill of the contacts.
