Food and organic waste at work
Happy New Year to you all!
As some of you may know, there is a grass roots movement on the Farm regarding the issue of organic waste at work not being separated and collected, many of our members are involved. Environmental issues are important for us. We, as executives of the PIPSC NCR AAFC Branch committee, would like to call upon our members to be the leaders of this movement. We have already stopped using single-use water bottles, which, we are happy to report, has become the norm on the Farm. We pledge that we will collect and compost food or organic waste from any social event that we organize. We also want to lead by example, so we, as individuals, pledge to collect our own food or organic waste and take it home to put in the green bin. In the meantime, we will continue to pressure management to put a system in place to solve this issue.
