STEWARD OF THE YEAR AWARD
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Atlantic Regional Executive Awards Committee (Committee) is requesting nominations for the Atlantic Regional 2019 Steward of the Year Award. All nominations are due September 13th, 2019 by 5:00 pm and can be sent to Catherine Pinks by email at cpinks@pipsc.ca.
NOMINATION PROCESS
This award is open to all stewards in the Atlantic Region who have been appointed for a minimum of three (3) years.
To assist in the preparation of your nomination, attached is the document The Role of the Steward. The nominator may contact Catherine Pinks cpinks@pipsc.ca should they require assistance with details related to the nominee’s service.
You will receive an acknowledgment that your nomination has been received. A member of the Awards Committee may contact the nominator to clarify details pertaining to the nomination. The Committee will choose the Steward of the Year and make the presentation at the Atlantic Steward Council in October 2018. The winner of the Steward of the Year Award will be formally recognized at the PIPSC National AGM.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Nominations will be reviewed and a selection made based on responses to the following criteria.
NOMINATION
Nominations are considered to be made by the actual signer, even if representing a group of members. The signed nominator will be considered the sponsor and will be the contact for the Committee.
CRITERIA:
Role (5 points): Describe the nominee’s contributions in their role as a Steward.
Impact (15 points): Outline the depth of the nominee’s contribution. Describe how their contributions have made a lasting difference in the workplace.
Reach (15 points): Describe who has benefited from the nominee’s contributions. How were they affected? Have the contributions expanded beyond the nominee’s workplace? Have their contributions increased PIPSC’s profile with the general public?
Engagement (20 points): Describe how the nominee’s contribution sparked teamwork, mobilized and engaged others. Did the nominee engage outside partners and resources?
Inspiration (5 points): Describe how the nominee became a role model and shared their experience and expertise within the workplace. Describe how the nominee has mentored others.
