75th ARC - Northern New Brunswick Branch Report

May 25 - 26, 2018

The Northern New Brunswick Branch held five Executive meetings since the last AGM of May 2017.

We tried to organize a session on Bill C-27 but due to uncontrollable circumstances, it was not held.

We had one member activity, which was a boat tour on the Miramichi River in the Miramichi area in August 2017.

We had our AGM on September 16, 2017, in Miramichi.  Kim Skanes was our invitee but unfortunately due to family obligations she was unable to make it.  During AGM we had several discussions:  Bill C-27, he act to amend the pension benefit standard and  the Phoenix wage issues.  With the last contract signed earlier this year between Treasure Board and the SH group, the members don’t know where to go the get the correct information on the raise they are supposed the get, getting from a multiple rates of pay to 2 rates of pay and several steps were added on the pay scales makes it harder for the members to follow what they are entitled to received.  Adding to this is the difficulty to read the Phoenix pay stub.
