  1. The Executive holds 4 to 5 regular annual meetings. Our agenda items include:
  • Bargaining
  • Information sharing
  • Member support
  • Mobilization
  • Exchange of ideas…
  1. Our Employee Wellness Support Program (EWSP) activity in the fall was organized by Mr. Érick Masseyin November 2018, at Buffet Découverte d’Orient in Chicoutimi, and was very well received by the attending members.
  1. Our Executive organized very few activities this year. However, at the TSO in Chicoutimi, a Lunch & Learn on “Fix Phoenix”was hosted by the AFS Sub-Group. This year, with the “Do Better” campaign, our Executive was asked to participate in the Mobilization Weeks. Promotional materials will be ordered and distributed to members in workplaces. Feel free to share ideas for Lunch & Learns or suggestions for union events. We have a budget for this type of events.
  1. In addition, this year I had dinner placemats made carrying PIPSC logo. Some members will be lucky to win them as door prizes. For those interested in such promotional items, please let your local contact person know, so we can plan for future needs.
  1. As every year, the Director of the Quebec Region, Mr. Yvon Brodeur, came to our May 2018 AGM. He also paid us a visit in the fall to follow up on some of the hot issues in the region.
  1. As President, I make it a point to go to provincial and national meetings, including the Regional Council, the Steward Council, and PIPSC AGM. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about issues in other regions, chat about our own issues and discuss promotional and awareness campaigns. A meeting report is usually sent to all members by Facebook and/or Hotmail.
  1. I would like to extend my thanks to the Executive for their involvement and support. Thank you for being active and available to members in your organization. The information you provide is critical to the sustainability of the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Branch. It is certainly difficult to mobilize all members, but this year, let us try to do better.

Kaven Landry

President, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Branch
