78th QRC - Abitibi-Temiscamingue Branch Report
Abitibi-Temiscamingue Branch Report – April 2019
Our Branch had 40 regular members and 3 retired members as of December 31, 2019.
Our executive met four times over the year.
We also participated in the Quebec Regional Council, the Steward Council and PIPSC’s AGM.
At our AGM, members had many questions about PIPSC’s strike fund, the Building Trust, the status of our collective agreement negotiations and PIPSC’s visibility in the media.
PIPSC’s priority is to protect the hard-earned gains we have made over the years.
Next year, we will be watching for changes in the workforce.
Visibility is important and we will be present everywhere regionally to make sure our members know what is going in the labour movement.
Our branch’s top challenge will be to prepare its renewal for the future.
Richard East, President, Abitibi-Témiscamingue Branch
