PROCEDURE AND ELECTION PROCESS

BC/Yukon Regional Executive Election

The following procedures and election processes are the recommendation of the Regional Executive and were approved as amended by the 2012 Regional Council. That the election process be as follows :

1. Call for Volunteers on the Elections Committee - All

2. Approval of Elections Committee - All

3. Elections Committee members elect a Chair - Elections Committee

4. Call for nominations (second call from the floor) - Chair of Elections Committee

5. Determine if clauses 3.4. 3.1 and 3.4.3.2 are invoked based on the nominations received  - Chair of Elections Committee

6. Speeches from the candidates before lunch (2 minutes) - Candidates

7. Delegates vote after returning from lunch - All

8. Chair of Elections Committee announces the results of the election by providing the names and number of votes - Chair of Elections Committee

9. Chair of Regional Council makes a call for appeal, if any, for resolution by the Regional Council - Chair

10. Motion to approve the new members of the Regional Executive - All

11. Motion to destroy the ballots - All
