Dear colleagues,
On July 8th, 2025, we held a hearing and side discussions with the members of the Conciliation Board. We have not moved off our position of parity. In conference, we were advised that the employer has not moved off its original wage offer. We are now waiting for a report from the Conciliation Board, which is to be rendered within 30 days. We remain hopeful as the Board considers our position. My thanks go to our negotiator, Jason Manchester, for his tireless efforts and also to the strike committee for its invaluable assistance with our submissions to the Board.
We were also very encouraged by the support of our membership – a large number of you came to sit in on the hearing. It was a standing room only event, and the employer saw the solidarity of our membership. Now is the time to close ranks and maintain solidarity. We need to continue to impress upon government our adamant demand for parity and continue to mobilize.
Stay tuned.
