Dear WPEG Members,
We wanted to provide an update on the ongoing negotiations. From November 18 to 22, we met with the employer both jointly with WTEG and independently. At this stage, most of our proposals and the employers’ proposals have been tabled.
This round introduced monetary proposals, with proposed changes to pay bands and salary adjustments. We've also introduced important changes to language around breaks and overtime compensation while on travel status, ensuring that the provisions comply with the Canada Labour Code while advocating for the necessary flexibility in certain areas.
We will meet again from December 19 through 21, and you can expect another update then. Your continued feedback and solidarity are critical to our efforts at the bargaining table, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
