PIPSC reviewed unexpected, last-minute information about your pension plan.  This information could have impacted how members benefit from the plan's current funding status. Through diligent collaboration,  PIPSC and PSAC have independently signed Letters of Understanding with the Yukon Hospital Corporation. The employer has committed to ensuring both members and the employer benefit equally from a Non-Permitted Surplus (overfunded status) in the YHC Pension Fund.  This means that when the plan is overfunded, both parties may take a contribution holiday.

 If a contribution holiday is scheduled, additional information will be provided by the employer and on the PIPSC website.
