Annual General Meeting – Members Only

  • Annual General Meeting: 5:30 – 6:00 pm
  • Speakers Presentations: 6:00 – 7:00 pm


We will have Stewards and Executive members of the SP Sub-Group to speak to the issues that concern you such as hybrid work, our Collective Agreement, and answer any questions that you may have.

In lieu of a dinner meeting, the first 30 members to respond and participate in the AGM on November 15th will be sent a pair of Cineplex movie tickets, to view a movie of your choice at a later date.

Elections for the Vancouver SP Sub-Group Executive will be held at the AGM. Up to three (3) positions are available and the term of office is for 2 years. Being on the Executive is a great way to contribute to professional science in Canada and a personal development opportunity. Anyone wishing to propose changes to the Vancouver SP Sub-Group’s Constitution and By-Laws (e.g., the election procedures) are welcome to do so. The Constitution and By-Laws outline the requirements that need to be met with respect to any proposed changes to the same. Any proposed changes to the Constitution and By-Laws need to meet with the approval of the PIPSC By-Laws Committee and approval of the PIPSC Board of Directors.

The SP Group includes members with the following classification: Actuary (AC), Agriculture (AG), Biologist (BI), Chemist (CH), Forester (FO), Meteorologist (MT), Physical Scientist (PC), Scientific Regulation (SG) and Patent Examination (PAT). 


For this AGM there are 9 positions available on the Vancouver SP Sub-Group Executive.  The term of office is for two (2) years.
