The SP Edmonton Subgroup Executive would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM), this year hosted at the Shamrock Curling Club.

Important Note: The PIPSC Board of Directors has made full vaccination (two doses) against COVID-19 a mandatory requirement for attending in-person union meetings and activities. Please visit PIPSC website for more information on the proof of vaccination process: https://pipsc.ca/news-issues/information-members-regarding-covid-19-coronavirus/pipsc-proof-vaccination-your-step-by

The AGM portion of the evening will begin at 6 PM, with socializing and food to follow. Business of the AGM will include:

  • Presidents Address
  • Treasurers Report
  • By-Laws Amendments
  • Election of Executive Positions

For the elections process, all members in good standing are invited to attend and take part in the voting process. All executive positions are open for election. Members wishing to nominate a fellow member for an executive position may do so via email to Eldon Albrecht (eldon.albrecht@ec.gc.ca). Details that must be included in the email are as follows:

  • Person being nominated (nominator must provide acknowledgement from nominee that they wish to be considered for the position)
  • Nominator
  • Person to second the motion of nomination

Note that nomination calls may also come from the floor at the meeting and nominations in absentia will be entertained, however, nominees in attendance at the meeting will be preferentially acclaimed.

If you would like to attend the AGM, please RSVP via email to Stephen Vallee (svallee@pipsc.ca) by noon March 16th.

Members may also submit motions they would like to bring forward to the floor of the AGM to Stephen Vallee (svallee@pipsc.ca).

During the evening, there will be food and drinks on offer. Each member will be entitled to two beverages covered by the subgroup over the course of the evening. Additionally, the subgroup will be providing a Mac & Cheese and Chili Bar (served with a variety of toppings such as, fresh chopped tomatoes, pickles, jalapenos, sauces, shredded cheese, tortilla chips, bacon, sour cream, etc.).

The SP Edmonton Subgroup Executive would like to recommend attendees wear a mask where possible during the meeting. We are aware that there is a wide range in safety concerns and comfort for in-person group events. We are hoping that having everyone wear a mask will alleviate some concerns and allow more members to attend the event.

We hope to see you there.

Stephen Vallee

President, SP Edmonton Subgroup
