Implementation details for the SP Group collective agreement are available, along with more details on several issues surrounding the $2500 signing bonus.
The dates for implementation of the salary parts of your collective agreement for those members not requiring manual intervention are available.
- As of February 15th, you have been earning your new rates of pay. Keep in mind that we are paid 2 weeks in arrears, so the first paycheck it will be visible on is the paycheck deposited March 13th.
- The $2500 non-pensionable signing bonus was deposited on the pay that you received the 28th of February.
- This is taxable income.
- This is non-pensionable.
- You can verify the non-pensionable status of the payment by looking at the PSSA deduction. There should be no difference as compared to your previous pay cheque, assuming no LWOP was taken.
- There is an issue with the 126 RCMP civilian members in the FLI-FSLS classification. An error was introduced in the encoding of the bonus, resulting in RCMP Pension deductions off of the bonus. RCMP management is aware of it and steps are being taken to explore and test potential recovery and payment options to rectify the issue.
- PIPSC reached out to Treasury Board to inform them to try to eliminate the unintended consequences upon those on maternity / parental leave. Unfortunately, the employer refused to accept our proposal to delay payments for members so impacted. PIPSC is currently exploring all options with our legal team. Additional communications are forthcoming.
- The mass retroactive pay will be deposited on the 27th of March.
