"PIPSC is concerned that, despite OSFI's agreement in early 2023 to collaborate on developing a pay equity plan, significant resources have been dedicated to creating a joint Pay Equity Plan aimed at closing the pay equity gap for female-dominated roles. However, the employer has refused to post the final plan as required by legislation. Instead of fulfilling this legal obligation, the employer has requested additional time and now seeks to modify the foundational elements of the plan, potentially altering its outcomes.

While PIPSC can only speculate on the employer's intentions, it appears that there may be efforts to reduce the costs associated with ensuring equitable pay for female-dominated roles. PIPSC is therefore seeking the Board's intervention to ensure that the jointly agreed-upon pay equity plan is published without further delay
