The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada

The union and company met in conciliation for three days: April 1st, 2nd, 3rd. With the aid of a conciliator appointed by the Minister of Labour, the parties reached resolutions on a couple of minor items that should have been resolved many months ago. We reinforced the message that the members deserve reasonable and fair compensation given the increased cost of living and the importance of professionals in the nuclear industry. We asked the company to come back with a deal that you have told us that you deserve.

Unfortunately, the parties were unable to reach a tentative agreement. The union and the company have agreed to extend the conciliation period by a week. However, we won’t meet again with the company until May 20th, when we are a week away from a potential strike. We will continue to provide frequent communication as we approach the legal strike position on May 25th.  Please ensure that your contact information, with a personal (non-cnl) email address, is up to date. This can be done on the PIPSC website at pipsc.ca/member-tools/change-of-address. Be sure to watch for details of upcoming events in your community. Thank you all for your continued support.
