At the request of the BCFNHA Group as per PIPSC By-Law 17.3.2.1, the PIPSC National Elections committee is conducting the 2024 elections to the BCFNHA Group Executive.

The National Election committee is seeking nominations for the following positions, each for a 2-year terms:

  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Member-At-Large (3 positions)

Please Note that the group President was elected last year for a 2-year term.

Submit your nomination by 16:00 PST February 23, 2024 using the form below.

Members are encouraged to participate in this union leadership opportunity. Please disconnect from FNHA VPN and use a personal device in order to ensure the form loads.

The nomination and election process is governed by our BCFNHA Group bylaws (https://pipsc.ca/groups/bcfnha/bylaws) 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3.

Here is a summary of the process:

  • Nominations must be supported by at least two (2) Group members
  • The Elections Committee will review the nominations to make sure nominees are eligible
  • If necessary, the Elections Committee will hold a vote

As a member of the group executive, your role is to:

  1. further the professional interests of the members
  2. protect the status and standards of our profession
  3. represent the views of the members on matters affecting them
  4. ensure that the interests of the Group are represented in all proceedings of the employer and of the union
  5. attend group executive meetings and participate in committees

Please note that PIPSC Stewards have a different role and are not subject to this election.

This is a voluntary role with an approximate monthly commitment of 2 hours. The executive meets approximately 6 times per year.
