The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada

Your BCFNHA Bargaining Team met with the employer for the third session of negotiations during the week of May 13. Despite the employer's unavailability for a day and a half, your team came prepared, as always, for detailed discussions.

During this session, both parties began to table comprehensive offer packages. While agreement has been reached on several issues, work still needs to be done.

The employer has yet to table a proposal on vacation leave, an area identified by the membership as a top priority. We have communicated to the employer that a written proposal on vacation leave is necessary to move forward with the bargaining process.

The bargaining team will meet in the coming weeks to discuss our next steps and how we will continue to work towards securing the deal that you deserve.

We recognize the uncertainty and frustration that negotiations bring. This process has proved challenging, but the team remains committed to representing members' interests in achieving a fair and strong collective agreement. The team hopes to conclude this round of bargaining as soon as possible.

The bargaining team appreciates your support and patience. We’ll be in touch within the next month with an update on how you can get involved.

If you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to email the group’s negotiator, Michael Urminsky, at murminsky@pipsc.ca or the bargaining team at bcfnha_barg@pipsc.ca.

In solidarity,

The BCFNHA Bargaining Team, PIPSC
