In 2009, after ten years in the Government, I decided to become a steward to represent PIPSC members and help improve our work environment.

In 2010 I was invited to represent PIPSC at the Union Management Consultation Committee and the Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee of the Public Health Agency of Canada.

In 2015 I was part of a group of stewards that formed a Consultation Committee to meet on a regular basis with the Health Canada CIO to improve the work environment of the CS members.

In 2019 I was elected as a member at large to the Ottawa West CS Sub-Group which am still an active member.

In 2020 I was invited to join the Occupational Health and Safety Committee to represent the Shared Services Canada employees at the Skyline buildings in Ottawa, ON.

During my 12 years as a steward I have represented several employees in grievances, harassment and discrimination complaints, and internal investigations.
