This year we are celebrating the centennial anniversary of the Winnipeg General Strike. The strike played a pivotal role in the benefits that we enjoy today. They include collective bargaining, minimum wage, parental leave, paid vacations, old age security, Canada pension plan, health and safety protections, etc.
As part of the celebrations, a multimedia presentation is planned on May 14. In the spirit of the Winnipeg General Strike, all are welcome to attend; the first 200 attendees will receive free lunch coupons.
