2018 Branch Activities

Executive Meetings – meetings were held to discuss various issues facing the Branch. Topics included planning activities and the AGM, ways to encourage more active membership, more and better use of PIPSC resources, such as the e-Learning products.

Ontario Region Council (April) – Branch President attended the ORC at Crowne Plaza, Niagara Falls, along with Dave Gustyn, Treasurer.

AFS Annual General Meeting (June) – Branch President attended the AFS Group AGM in Ottawa.

Ontario Stewards Council (September) – A number of Stewards from the Branch attended the OSC at Nottawasaga Resort, Alliston.

Branch AGM (November) – A joint AGM for the Branch and the local AFS Sub-Group was held. Guest speakers were AFS President Doug Mason, and AFS Ontario Representative, Shawn Gillis.  Work has been done on revising and updating the Branch By-Laws.

Issues and Concerns:

Continuing to raise and advance the presence of PIPSC in the represented workplaces, and having more communication and interaction between members of the various groups within the Branch, as well as with other Branches.
