2017 Activities:
Branch President & Vice-President have participated in the Ontario Region’s Branch Presidents’ conference calls.

Branch President and 3 stewards/executives attend ORC as delegates

Several Branch stewards attended the Ontario Region Labour School.
Combined London Branch & AFS Subgroup AGM- guest speakers – Ontario Region Director, Peter Gilkinson; AFS National President, Doug Mason & AFS Ontario Representative, Shawn Gillis.
London Branch Spirit Award recipients- John Benbow in recognition of 20+ years of service as a steward and elected executive.
Posthumously – Allison Campbell in recognition of her many years of support of PIPSC’s values and her participation within the Branch and AFS subgroup.
Our members attending this London PIPSC annual general contributed over $ 300 to the Canadian Mental Health Association in memory of the late Allison Campbell.

Branch members and stewards participate in the CRA London TSO golf tournament. London Branch provides several PIPSC Better Together promotional products for prizes.
September
London Branch and AFS Subgroup Executives and Stewards participate in London PSAC/UTE Labour Day member BBQ at London Federal Building. PIPSC “chips” handed out.
Executive members and Stewards attend the London-Middlesex United Way Harvest Lunch
Branch Stewards attended the Ontario Region Stewards’ Council.
Branch & AFS Subgroup host a Munch & Learn outreach dinner for members with PIPSC Employment Relations Officer, Crystal Stewart giving a presentation about Performance Management.

PIPSC London Branch members along with our brothers & sisters in Union of Taxation Employees located at the London TSO of CRA, participate in the United Way Stair climb.

Our AFS subgroup remains the largest and most active of our groups. However, our MALS at our other employer locations are doing a fantastic job of enhancing PIPSC’s presence and are active within their respective groups.
Peter Rodrigues -VA-NU (SH) -selected as a member of his group’s bargaining committee.
Suwas Nikumb - NRC_RO_CO-active within his group at NRC London and nationally and attended their national AGM.
Dean Bergmann- CS-DND - active within his group at DND London
Patrick Chapman – CS- AGR & AGRF Canada - active within his group at Agriculture Canada London and coordinating outreach events with PSAC.
Robert Dickieson- CFIA –VM – selected as member of PIPSC’s Ontario Youth Committee
Issues and Concerns
Membership – retirement, job losses and integrating new employees; contract negotiations & implementation; Phoenix; staffing - promotions, office closures/ consolidations; performance management; pension- Bill C-27.
Resolutions
London Branch 2017 AGM – Pipsc approved our resolution to change the term of the executive positions to 3 years effective with our May 2018 AGM elections.
National AGM - Our resolution regarding constituent funding approved by the 2017 ORC was submitted to the 2017 PIPSC National AGM but was unfortunately not tabled. We will be submitting it to the 2018 National AGM.
